A Night of Nostalgia in Rourkela
On Saturday, Rourkela witnessed a heartfelt tribute to the iconic Lata Mangeshkar at the Civic Centre, organized by the Lata Mangeshkar Fans’ Club. The event, titled Meri Awaaz Hi Pehchaan Hai, celebrated her birth anniversary with a night filled with music and memories.
This year marked the eighth installment of the tribute concert, showcasing the dedication of local fans from the Steel City who strive to honor the legacy of 'Lata Didi.'
The chief guest for the evening was Biswaranjan Palai, the executive director of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant. Notable guests included Pratigna Palai, vice president of Deepika Mahila Sanghati; Jayant Kumar Acharya, CMO in-charge (M&HS); S.S. RoyChowdhury, CGM of RSP; entrepreneur Kamal Agrawal; and social worker Anita Agarwal, along with several senior officials from RSP.
Shyam Patodia served as the host for the event, while the inaugural session was managed by Sasanka Pattnaik, deputy manager (PR) at RSP. The venue was filled to capacity, reflecting Mangeshkar’s lasting influence on music enthusiasts across generations.
